Description
CAMPAIGN SUMMARY – PROJECT TAILORMADE by Zoh -Sponsor a Tailoring Course for Underprivileged Women
Tailoring Course Duration – 3 Months
Underprivileged women are worst affected when it comes to poverty and unemployment. They are mostly dependent on men for their basic needs and day to day financial requirements. In the case of underprivileged households, if the man is unemployed the situation of the family get even more worse.
Women Empowerment is need of the hour especially in the underprivileged sections of the society. We believe making them financially independent and self-reliant will not only help their own self esteem but also will help to uplift the financial status of their families and securing their children’s future in case they are married.
Some facts for perusal:
- Women make up 48 percent of the Indian population but have not benefited equally from India’s rapid economic growth
- Sixty-five percent of women are literate as compared to 80 percent of men
- India has amongst the lowest female labor force participation rates in the world
- Less than a third of women – 15 years or older – are working or actively looking for a job
